DESCRIPTION:This is a chance to work over three weeks with a naturalist to study the natural and cultural history of this place we call the Salish Sea. It will include a wildlife/ whale watching trip with Eagle Wing Tours\, which is a nationally recognized company\, out on the water to give your students an opportunity to learn first-hand about the wonders of this area. DESCRIPTION:The 5th annual Technology for Learning Summit is happening at Oak Bay High on the Pro-D Day Friday\, Nov. 22nd 2019. For the past 4 years we have partnered with EdTechTeam to help facilitate this event. This year the Provincial Specialist Association (PSA) called CUEBC (Computer Using Educators of BC) will be working in conjunction with SD61\, SD62 and SD63 and it will be called the CUEBC Tech For Learning Summit 2019.\n \nThe continued purpose of the conference is to provide teachers with support and inspiration around any technology used in the classroom for teaching and learning. Sessions may include infusing topics such as G-Suite\, Chromebooks\, iPads\, coding\, Read and Write for Google Chrome\, robotics\, using a green screen\, using ePortfolios\, digital wellness\,  etc. into inclusive classroom teaching and learning K-12.\n  \nKeynote Speaker \nAna Homayoun – Social Media Wellness: Understanding the Intersection of School\, Stress and Social Media\nWorking with kids in today‘s digital world has never been so complex\, and keeping up with the latest social media trends can seem like a never-ending challenge. Today‘s technology-infused learning environments play host to many distractions\, including social media. Many teens and young adults typically use online tools to promote and maintain community\, and with that opportunity comes potential challenges.
