Assessments

Selected Math Assessments for K-5

Some effective assessment tools that should be easy for SD61 staff to access. Of course, selecting the most appropriate assessment depends on what you are aiming to understand mathematically about your student(s). For example, you might be looking for what students know about :

  • one math concept for a lesson or several concepts for a unit or an overall sense of mathematical thinking to begin or end the year
  • a detailed analysis of one student or general info the whole class
  • conceptual thinking & understanding or knowing a mathematical process or algorithm
