TA LIAIS Trena Black, is a T’Sou-ke band member and SD61 District Indigenous Elementary Teacher with 22 years of classroom teaching experience. Trena is a PhD student at the University of Victoria. In this learning series, she applies components of her doctoral research to explore meaningful classroom practices for holistic student well-being.
In this learning series we will:
- Engage in discussion to deepen our understanding of Indigenous knowledge and ways of being
- Describe and apply strategies that promote mental well-being and healthy eating choices
- Identify the relationship of self care and nutrition to overall health
