Learning Environments that Nurture physical and Mental Well-being from an Indigenous Perspective

TA LIAIS Trena Black, is a T’Sou-ke band member and SD61 District Indigenous Elementary Teacher with 22 years of classroom teaching experience. Trena is a PhD student at the University of Victoria. In this learning series, she applies components of her doctoral research to explore meaningful classroom practices for holistic student well-being.

In this learning series we will:

  • Engage in discussion to deepen our understanding of Indigenous knowledge and ways of being
  • Describe and apply strategies that promote mental well-being and healthy eating choices
  • Identify the relationship of self care and nutrition to overall health

4 sessions on the first Tuesdays of the Months
3:00 to 4:00pm via Zoom
