Are you interested in having a UVic Education student volunteer in your classroom to support your French language program? Are you keen to help prospective French Immersion teachers gain experience in a classroom setting?
| Who? | We are looking for French Immersion teachers who are interested in having a student volunteer in their classroom to help with all aspects of a French Immersion classroom environment.
Teachers who are interested in welcoming and supporting students to become more confident with their French, and who are interested in sharing their passion for French language education, are encouraged to apply. |
| What? | Teachers will host a student volunteer in their classroom, work with student volunteer to set goals, and suggest ways that student volunteers can work directly with students and support the class. |
| When? | UVic students will volunteer from late-September to December 2023. Schedules will be determined between host teacher and volunteer teacher and will keep in mind classroom needs and students’ schedules. |
| Why? | Many prospective French language teachers are interested in spending more time in French Immersion classrooms in order to build their confidence in French, to gain a better understanding of teaching French Immersion and to get hands-on volunteer experience in French. |
| How? | Teachers can apply HERE before September 15, 2023
Teachers and student volunteers will be invited to attend an orientation session on the afternoon of September 27. Release time will be provided. |
